The vast Mortimer Forest folds around Ludlow, covering much of the surrounding area. Ludlow Castle (2 miles / 3.2 km): Perched above the River Teme the castle is a regular setting for events, markets, craft and food fairs, Shakespearean plays and concerts. Ludlow Racecourse: It is said that 14th century soldiers raced their horses at this National Hunt course approximately 5 miles away.
